So,Last year, while at the fair with My Boyfriend Matt,we looked at the all the contest stuff there was & as we looked at the photography test,he suggested that i enter into this year's photography contest.
So I decided i'd enter to see how good my stuffies truly ish & maybe even get recconized.Thanks to My Boyfriend's suggestion,support,& encouragement,i signed up though it did sort of spook me at the thought of my photographs not being good enough for 1ST or 2ND place.
I've never EVER entered before so this was a big dilio do me.
I've always adored taking photos of pretty much anything that looked intresting.
The contest had 3 categories; Youth/high school,Professional,& Amateur.
Amateur was my category.
There were these things called lots.You were allowed 1 photo per lot.
I got the chance to enter one photo to one lot.<-Result of being dirt poor. u_u
Photos had to be 8 x 10 & matted with a 11 x 14 matte.*i think*
8 x 10 photos from wal-mart are about $5+ here,
so i recommend developing your own.
Photos that weren't taken 12 months
or more in advance couldn't be entered.
Which really messed me up.;
I had OODLES of photos I took when I went to Florida for vacation
and Unfortunately most my photos have the dates on them.
I wanted to play fair so i didn't enter my Florida photos in the contest or any other ones that i hadn't taken 12+ months in advance to the due date.
I'd already had one photo from Florida printed off before I knew the rules.
When I found out the rules...I was all...*Sad Kitteh* = T.T; =
But none the less did i abide by the rules.*nodnod*
Anyhooker...I entered one photo as amateur,under the nature category,in the plants,flowers,& trees lot.
There were OODLES-N-OODLES of photos in the same amateur,category,& lot i entered.
I entered a photo i'd taken with my very first digi cam.
Back when I was first getting into photography.
The photograph was of some pink roses from the rose bush in front of my house with dark pink spots on them.I never could figure out what was on the roses but w/e it was it was gorgeous to me.<3
Matt & I went up to the fair together to see what it was judged as.

I came in 3RD place.Which ish pretty good considering how many people entered & didn't get a place at all.
The ribbons for the places were tiny,but i none-the-less, feel accomplished.
And who knows,Maybe my photographs will get noticed more.
I plan to enter more next year & gradually try to enter as many lots,print off 8 x 10s, & buy as many mattes as i can before the photography contest next year.
on top of it all my Boyfriend Matt,my family,friends,& teachers are proud of me,But most importantly I'm proud of myself.
